Diving watches were invented due to some military purposes. Also they were invented for people who dive for a living. Technomarine watches are used in this manner. The outer part of diving watches need to be stronger than the dress watches because it has to stand up to salty sea water and the pressure of deep oceanic work. The sea salt is corrosive which will make a watch rust and defective. Do not worry because there are watches that are made from materials like stainless steel, titanium, ceramic, resins or plastic. The case also has to protect against magnetic fields, bumping and shock.
A diving watch should have elapsed time controllers on the bezel. Analog diving watches have a rotating bezel. It will allow for an easier reading of elapsed time and to compute the length of a dive. Diving watches have thick crystals. Sometimes it is arched. Materials used for crystals are able to withstand intense pressure under the sea.
Some diving watches are filled with air or helium to stop them from infringement. Diving watches filled with air have to be larger to keep from breaking under pressure. Professional divers sometimes save lives and when lives are at stake, they cannot afford to have their equipment break underwater. It will put them at risk and as well as the lives they will save.
The makers of diving watches say those divers should have the watch checked professionally every so often. It is a must to take it to an authorized watch repair shop every few years to have the seals replaced.
